Biography Kjetil Elvevold
I finished my MSc in 1997 and became Research Fellow at the Institute of Medical Biology, University of Tromsø. In 2000 I started my PhD, which I fullfilled in 2005. Thereafter I worked as a post-doc until 2008. From 2008-2012 I worked as a researcher at the Department of Clinical Pathology, University Hospital of North Norway in a commissioned research project financed by Biotec Pharmacon ASA. I am a co-founder of the biotec company D’Liver AS and worked as senior scientist in the company between March 2012-September 2018. Before I started as researcher in Nofima 1st Nov 2019, I worked as Senior Scientist at University of Tromsø, Dept of Vascular Biology.

With the use of modern, research-based process technology and expertise, unused or under utilized biomass of marine or terrestrial origin can be used for new, marketable products. We coordinate, develop and increase Nofima’s total expertise related to the future of sustainable protein production. Peptek is a strategic research initiative focused on sustainability, total utilization, food safety and future food security.
