Biografi Åge Oterhals

Jeg er ansatt som seniorforsker i Nofima. Mine hovedinteresser er innen områdene marin og industriell bioteknologi, fôrteknologi, prosessoptimalisering og effekt av prosessbetingelser på produktkvalitet. Nåværende forsknings¬aktivitet inkluderer kjemisk/fysisk karakterisering av proteinråvarer relatert til ekstrudering av fiskefôr, enzymatisk hydrolyse av proteiner, prosessutvikling og anvendelse av separasjons¬teknologi. Jeg er utdannet sivilingeniør innen områdene kjemi og industriell bioteknologi og har en PhD-grad innen fysikk og teknologi. Forskningsfaglig har jeg arbeidet med en lang rekke industri og prosessrelaterte prosjekter som omfatter råstoffkvalitet, separasjons- og avvannings¬teknologi, fôrteknologi, fermenterings¬teknologi,raffinering og anvendelse av fiskeolje i næringsmidler, og fjerning av persistente organiske miljøgifter i fiskemel og fiskeolje. Jeg har tidligere industri- og forskningsfaglig erfaring fra utvikling og formulering av produkter innen områdene spesialdietter, kosttilskudd, helsekost, fôringredienser og fôr.
