Summary
The experiments show that it is possible to get similar catch by use of offal from cod as by use of squid. Squid is considered the best bait in snow crab pots in Barents Sea. The catch was significantly lower by use of the two new artificial baits developed from Kvalvikbait, as compared to use of the traditional squid bait. However, this new artificial bait has increased the catching rate as compared to the first generation of artificial bait from Kvalvikbait tested in 2016.
