The project main objective is to highlight the aquaculture companies' economic and social repercussions locally and regionally. Our experience shows that this type of knowledge is requested and used political and commercial at all levels and will help create knowledge of the industry ripple effects.
Lerøy Aurora Ltd is one of the cases In the project. The company has grown by 73 FTEs since 2013. Staff taxes to 17 counties, and mainly in the municipalities Skjervøy and Tromsø. Sales of salmon had a value of 1.34 billion in 2015, an increase of 13%. Value added increased from 2014 to 2015 of 9% to almost 622 million. It provides added value per employee of approximately 2.2 million. Lerøy Aurora has 25 licenses, value added per license is approximately 25 million. Tax contribution from employees is also increasing in line with the increase in employment. The increase was 26% from 2014 to 2015 and has passed the 40 million that goes with big and small for 32 municipalities. Supplier purchases increased by 32%, and passed one billion in 2015.
