Documentation of food safety, quality, and positive health properties are part of modern food production, that is almost as important as the product's positive attributes. A Computerized Traceability System is now a necessary electronic tool that create added value to the product or is a necessary door opener, in a tough global competition. We have developed a web platform to communicate relevant tracking- and product information between business partners in the salmon production chain. Customers can access relevant information by logging in to the system. We have completed Phase 3 of the project Market-based tracking salmon industry. The project in this phase focused on corporate tracking and outreach activity against wholesalers and trading processes. There have also been developed functionality to satisfy the requirements of NS 9405: 2014 - Requirements for labelling of distribution units and pallets in the trade of fish and fish products.
