Live fish transport with emissions of transportwater in the sea and subsequent storage in waiting cages is a big risk factor for disease spread between cages. In connection with the development of slaughterboat "Tauranga" there is a need to examine whether fast cooling can have positive (extend) prerigor time for salmon. Quick temperature change can affect the enzymatic processes in fish muscle and give a prolonged prerigor time. This is important to map to see how long the routing time the slaughterboat can have, something that will expand the use of the boat. The results of the project showed that the low temperature (-1 to 0 ° C) does not have any effect in relation to extend prerigortime.
