In year 2000 it was possible to take out about 110.000 tons of by-products from the Norwegian production of farmed salmon. These by-products can be utilised in many ways, as consumer products, chemicals, pet food, in cosmetic products, food for animals and as snacks. The main challenge in the utilisation of by-products is the information about markets fore these new products.
In this report is given a lot of ideas how to utilise the by-products from fish, in particular salmon and rainbow trout.
