Over the last decade, we have seen changes in the market for bacalhau products, with a trend for more convenient products.
In this project, we aim to get a better understanding of the future competitive situation for the Norwegian industry for salted and cured fish by taking a closer look at the Portuguese bacalhau industry.
Portugal is the most important trade partner and market, hence knowledge of their buying criteria and strategic priorities are therefore interesting.
Of all cod exported from Norway, 26 percent goes to Portugal, mostly to the industry for salted and cured products.
