Present position: PostDoc Degrees: Ph.D. Norwegian University of Life Sciences, 2008 M.Sc. (Diplom) Food Science and Technology from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany (2003) Research experience & interests: My main field of interest is vibrational spectroscopy in particular FT-IR spectroscopy. FT-IR microspectroscopy in combination with histology and application of FT-IR microspectroscopy to investigate the effect of food manufacturing processes on muscle foods, primarily on muscle proteins have been the focus of my Ph.D work. A further interest of mine is optimization of cultivation and preparation of microbial liquid cultures for improving FT-IR as a high-throughput application for characterization of microorganisms. The main goal in Smartbio is to develop novel process analytical technology, which will lead to new product innovations in the Enzymatic protein hydrolysis (EPH).

Teaming up with key industry and market players, iNOBox main goal is to integrate in the Norwegian food industry more efficient, profitable and sustainable processing, securing the supply of safe, high-quality and nutritious foods.

The overall aim of the project is to expand the knowledge on how the environment affects the biology of farmed fish and develop robust systems that may be used to screen and evaluate the impacts of the challenges related to changing environment.

Over almost 40 years, Nofima has built up a strong scientific community in the field of spectroscopy - rapid and non-destructive measurements for process optimization. We possess solid expertise within an international format and a modern instrument platform, which is unique in Norway and comparable to the best in Europe. We wish to develop this further by means of establishing the strategic research initiative Spectec.
