I work as a scientist at Nofima’s department of Seafood Industry in Tromsø. My main field of interest is spectroscopy and rapid measurements for quality control of seafood. I am also interested in technology in general and how it can be applied within fishery and aquaculture. My education is culinary school, followed by a BA in archaeology from NTNU and an MSc in technology from UiT. I finished my master’s degree in the spring of 2018 in the field of earth observation. The topic for my thesis was processing of synthetic aperture radar images.

1. January 2020 – 20. December 2022
During this project, we will be identifying how the use of various types of commercial fishing gear affect the physiology and mortality of cod and thus their welfare and quality. We will also be investigating the links between ethical fishing, quality and price.
1. January 2019 – 31. January 2021
During this project, the researchers shall gather new, multidisciplinary knowledge about how the marine industries can coexist in a good way along the coast, and develop new methodologies and models for such coexistence.
9. February 2017 – 31. December 2022
Over almost 40 years, Nofima has built up a strong scientific community in the field of spectroscopy - rapid and non-destructive measurements for process optimization. We possess solid expertise within an international format and a modern instrument platform, which is unique in Norway and comparable to the best in Europe. We wish to develop this further by means of establishing the strategic research initiative Spectec.
1. March 2015 – 28. February 2019
In this multi-disciplinary project we have studied the entire value chain for mackerel and farmed salmon.
