Biography Pirjo Honkanen
I work within a range of issues related to determinants of consumers’ food choices. I have been working with consumer attitudes towards genetically modified, organic and sustainable foods. Lately, my focus has been on determinants of consumption of sustainable, environmentally friendly and ethical foods.
Pirjo Honkanen has 42 publications at Nofima:

This Nordic Centre of Excellence will develop knowledge and solutions for sustainable and resilient aquaculture production as a part of the blue bioeconomy, with a cross-disciplinary focus.
15. December 2016 – 15. May 2017
The objective of the project is to establish a knowledge base for standards and certification schemes of social sustainability for Norwegian capture based fishing industry.
1. December 2013 – 1. May 2015
The aim of this project is to provide strategically important knowledge of the South African seafood market.
