Evan Durland

I am a scientist with the Breeding and Genetics group in Ås.

I have worked in aquaculture since 2004, and gained a broad experience ranging from growing catfish, shrimp and oysters in the USA, managing hatcheries for grouper and pearl oysters in Indonesia, to seaweed farming in Sweden.

My main interests lie in the application of genetics and breeding to improve commercial farming operations.

Here at Nofima, I work with a variety of projects involving molecular genetics, precision phenotyping and development of new tools to monitor and assess the health, welfare and performance of the animals and plants we cultivate.
